Have come to the conclusion that not many people read things all the way. Up in Glacier last year we started the 8-10 year rehab on the road. So beings that winter obviously doesnt allow for work, the only time of year to get things done is the same time that 2 million visitors come, so they work from 10p-6a. Well there is a sign as you enter the park "26 miles ahead, 4 hour delays, 10pm-6am Sunday-Friday" I don't know if I could count how many people come in the visitor center freaking out "what's going on with the 4 hour delays, I was hoping to go over the pass" "Well, the very bottom line of the 3 line sign also said 10pm-6am, so unless you are capable of checking out the scenery when it's pitch black, you have nothing to worry about. have a fantastic day"
We now have a new sign mainly for those that are going on long backcountry trips to give them a heads up "Road closed, 16 miles ahead, 9/15-9/22" So again with the same questions and essentially my same reply "you're only here for 2 days? No need to worry about what's happening on the 15th than right?" All I can do is laugh. They are both a simple 3 line orange sign with approx. 3 words each line, even if you were doing 74 in that 35 mph zone you'd be able to read that......
