Let the tourist stories begin....
Working visitor center yesterday and a lady came in to ask what all was open etc. I told her she could get 10 miles up the road by car and an additional 9 if she wanted to hike/bike. She says "ok great, how far to the 10 miles?" "ummmmm, 10 miles. . . ." Doing everything I could to not crack up, used the excuse that she was from Florida. I'm sorry, is distance of 10 miles different by state??? After a few more minutes of her confusion, she finally got out that she was wanting to know where the road started (which is the road she came in on) oh, i'm so happy to have funny questions again.... 2 hours later a couple older guys (60s ish) came in and asked whether the deer they saw where whitetail or blacktail(mule deer) "well, i've seen both driving in here, so you tell me, did it have a white or black tail, if it had a little black on the end than it wouldnt be a whitetail deer would it" YAY for fun questions. those were just the two highlights of yesterday. was plenty more...

Moving furniture...
So I've been thinking of getting rid of my couch, among many other things, cause for a house this small when no one comes over, it is hardly necessary. If I want to watch a movie while laying down that's what tv in bedroom is for. Anyway, I'm also a "freecycle member". If you haven't heard of freecycle, I say you should, it is a GREAT program and I've found it quite useful in acquiring and getting rid of various items - you'll find listings ranging from coupons to cars and everything possible in between. Go to www.freecycle.org to find the group nearest you.
Ok, enough of a plug, on with the story. A gal posted this morning that she was looking for furniture for a friend in need. I replied w/ the current condition (dog shedding season, 'nuff said) and color etc of my couch and said if it fit the bill to let me know and i'd have it outside my house waiting for them to come get it. Apparently I'm the only one that responded so I got the pleasure of moving my hide-a-bed couch out into driveway by myself. I'm a moron! Normal couches I can do myself, but add all that extra weight under the cushions and two tricky corners and I'm ready for chiropractor and massage therapist.............
