"Get down on it..."

This is a great vid from USGS cameras setup for part of the Northern Divide Grizzly Bear Project - figuring out just how many are around here. For more info check this out... http://www.nrmsc.usgs.gov/research/NCDEbeardna.htm

My Favorite Place...

Last weekend I made a quick day jaunt up to Polebridge. Probably my favorite place to be, I WILL have acreage up there someday. It's a lil town just a couple miles from the Canadian border, has no electricity other than what is supplied by generators, The next closest town is Columbia Falls about 30-35 miles away on a washboard dirt road. Anyway.......... Here's some shots on the drive up and back.

Blankenship, one of my fav spots. Merging of North and Middle Forks of Flathead.

This is in the outhouse between the Merc and Saloon in Polebridge, cracks me up. In the summer it's "leave lid down"

10 days of inversion, finally a CLEAR day.....

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous out, so I went on another lil' photo safari. Was even colder than Saturday was though.

Beautiful Lake McDonald

Super special......hahaha

Standing on the boat dock at the lodge

Looking back towards Apgar/foot of the lake

Again

Back at Apgar

Middle Fork of the Flathead and Belton Hills

Good ol' Great Northern and Hungry Horse Reservoir

On the road again.......

Got sent down to Missoula on Saturday for work, so decided to make the most of the trip back. My friend Dalynn was in town for the weekend so I got her to come along and keep me company. All the pitstops made for a pretty enjoyable trip.

First up.....St. Ignatius Mission, I love this church...

Cheeser shot...

Standing above Flathead River with Polson in the background...

Moving on to Kerr Dam

Dam was just around that corner, but couldn't get there. Maybe in spring when they have the gates open.

Self-shot between access tunnel and generators.

Hurrying for a shot. Was only about 10 degrees so the wind was cuttin' right through ya.

Nifty features along the way...

Winter in Montana

It's winter in Montana
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love Montana
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Montana
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!
